The
Sunbeam Spares company specialises in the supply of new
and used parts, literature, memorabilia, restoration, tuning
and racing/rallying preparation for the classic Sunbeam
Alpine or Tiger. Between them Keith and Brian have over
fifty-year's experience of restoring, racing and exhibiting
these wonderful cars. They are both long serving members
of the Sunbeam Tiger Owners Club (www.sunbeamtiger.demon.co.uk)and
have the experience to offer you the best possible service.
Their wealth of advice is totally free!
Keith Hampson purchased
his first Sunbeam - a Series 1 Alpine, in 1963. This was part exchanged in 1968 for series IVSports, which was used as every day family transport until 1973. Keith still owns and runs the car, which has
never undergone any major restoration.
Keith's next acquisition was an almost roadworthy Tiger bought in 1981. A "running restoration" was carried out and the car won several awards before being
sold to buy a Mark II factory prototype car - chassis number AF203. A 2 year restoration was undertaken which was completed in 1988. EHP 321C was featured in several magazines, including the August 1989
issue of Classic and Sportscar when six of the best British sports cars were compared.
In 1989 another originally factory owned MarkI Tiger was purchased (EWK 220C) and restored for
road/competition use. This is now a fully developed competition car. |

Keith
also owns the 1962/3 factory LeMans car - 9201 RW, which resides
at present in the Coventry Motor Museum.
Brian Postle bought his first Sunbeam Tiger in 1979 at a cost
of £1300. Since then he has owned several and also done a great
deal of both mechanical and restoration work on his own Sunbeams
and those owned by friends.
Brian's interest in Sunbeams had been steadily growing over the
years and in 1997 he 'took the plunge' and decided to make his
hobby a business. he formed a partnership with Keith and together
they became the Sunbeam Spares Company.
Keith and Brian also run restoration businesses independently.
Keith has been operating very successfully as Classic Rebuild
for a period of six years and Brian as Brian Postle Restorations.
Although Classic Rebuild has undertaken several complete Sunbeam
restorations, the present arrangement sees Keith concentrating
on bodywork and Brian on assembly and mechanical works. A reputation
for quality work, second to none has been built up over the years
and many enthusiasts await the restoration of their prized Sunbeams.
The
Sunbeam Spares Company buy and sell Alpines and Tigers, and always
have a selection of Sunbeams for sale. For anyone considering
the purchase of a car, a full inspection and valuation service
is provided.
